WHAT WE OFFER

CONSTRUCTION PLANNING

BluPlan Construction Services bring experience and detailed knowledge that enables us to collaborate with project teams to ensure the programme sequencing is logical & durations achievable. We provide programme support on projects at every stage of the project lifecycle – Design, Procurement, & Site Operations – for both the pre-construction & construction phases.

Pre-construction Planning

  • Production of tender programmes NEC or JCT compliant

  • Production of Two Stage Tender documentation

  • Production of preliminary costs

  • Design and procurement programmes

  • Package programmes

  • Production of written methodologies & detailed logistics / phasing plans

  • Monte Carlo risk analysis & programme stress testing

  • Resource loading & planned labour histograms

  • 4D planning using ASTABIM software

Construction Planning

  • Regular progress reporting with progress droplines and logic linked events in the period.

  • Programme analysis for compensation events

  • Payment milestone schedules

  • Operative and delivery resource histograms

  • As built programmes & delay analysis

  • Critical path analysis

  • Subcontractor programmes

  • Collaborative planning workshops

Compatibility

BluPlan Construction Services utilises the leading software packages ASTA Powerproject / BIM & Microsoft Project.

DELAY ANALYSIS

Drawing on our industry wide expertise, we offer a robust delay and schedule analysis service for prospective, and retrospective, extension of time entitlements and for the analysis of delay, acceleration, disruption, and loss of productivity.

Our techniques include:

  • Critical path analysis

  • Earned value analysis

  • Line of balance

  • Monte Carlo simulation

  • S curves

  • Time impact analysis / Windows analysis / As built vs as planned / As built but for analysis

COLLABORATIVE PLANNING SESSIONS

Collaborative planning (last planner) is a method used to ensure projects and work packages are delivered to schedule. Typically a collaborative plan involves getting the key individuals responsible for the different trades required to deliver a work package together to schedule out a complex project / section of works.  By having everyone together at the same time key bottlenecks can be identified and then worked through in order to establish the most efficient plan for project delivery. A collaborative plan at its most basic involves giving each trade a colour and then dividing what each trade needs to do into a series of smaller (usually daily) steps.

These steps are then superimposed onto a table which has key deadlines on it to understand how these deadlines can be met.  Once established a collaborative plan is then used to understand what jobs are happening on site on a daily basis, with a more structured review occurring on either a 4 or 10 week basis depending on the size of the project.  The main advantage of these sessions is that it encourages the subcontractors to ‘own’ the programme, which in turn makes the application by the site team a lot easier.

We have successfully implemented these sessions on various live projects across the industry.

4D PLANNING & BIM

4D modelling combines 3D models with Project Programmes, and provides a visual display of how the project will be built along a timeline. The service is often used to support bids, but is increasingly being used once the project gets to site.  Being able to interrogate a 3D graphical representation of the proposed project programme, enables the project delivery team to identify and resolve previously obscured logistical issues and potential logic / sequencing discrepencies.
